DeafRead
July 12th, 2006
This must be my fifth blog. I think.
Anyways, to get started right away, Hello and welcome! This blog’s launch will concide with my newest website, DeafRead. The site is a filtered feed aggregator, meaning it draws from multiple RSS feeds. Blog posts are processed into a database, and we have human editors who will determine what gets published. There are similiar services out there; however, with human involvement, we will do our best to keep the website clean and free of junk.
If we do not meet this goal, email me. I’d appreciate hearing from you. Also, any of our human editors (yes, I know we only have one at the moment) can be emailed. Their names appear on the right side column. Click them to email.
You have two ways to enjoy the site. The first is obvious: go to www.deafread.com. The second: you may load DeafRead into a RSS reader. By now, you should have one. My favorite is google.com/ig, but that’s another subject. If you’re not up to par on RSS, here’s a primer.
Finally, I’d like to thank Jared Evans for his help. DeafRead was more like a fun project, and thought it would be even more fun working with him. It was! Thanks, Jared. You rock.
The thing about DeafRead I’m most proud of? Seven days after DeafRead was conceived, the site is now a reality.
